Bookshelf Rating System
In order to provide a fair price point for the technical and physical merits of the books in the Bookshelf as well as to provide you, our customers, with a means of a fair valuation, we have devised a rating system that has been applied to all publications featured here. In addition, you, our valued customers, can be assured that the book you choose will be of a nature and quality represented by the rating given. This rating system is unique to The Family Historian, Ancestry Solutions and ancestrysolutions.com and is based upon a sliding scale of arbitrary points that can be assigned to each technical and physical attribute found in any particular book. The total number of points scored by a particular book has then been translated into a sale price for that work. The ratings scale is reproduced below so that you may see for yourself that price has been based solely upon the technical and physical features, or lack thereof, of any one book. The total rating has been indicated, in brackets, following the book price, e.g. $3.50 (ASR 17), the 'ASR' representing "Ancestry Solutions Rating". The highest possible rating for one book is 49.
