Ancestry Solutions' Book Rating System or ASR
All of the books and ephemera that appear in our Antiquarian, Second-Hand and Out-of-Print books section have been carefully hand chosen for the technical and physical merits of the material contained within each book or ephemera and the value that those contents could bring to one's historical or family history research.
In order to provide a fair price point for the technical and physical merits of the books chosen for our Antiquarian, Second-Hand and Out-of-Print books section, as well as to provide you, our valued customers, with a means of a fair valuation, we have devised a rating system that has been applied to all publications featured here. In addition, you can be assured that the book you choose will be of a nature and quality represented by the rating given.
This rating system was created by and is unique to Ancestry Solutions and ancestrysolutions.com and is based upon a sliding scale of arbitrary points that can be assigned to each technical and physical attribute found in any particular book. The total number of points scored by a particular book has then been translated into a sale price for that work. The ratings scale is reproduced below so that you may see for yourself that price has been based solely upon the technical and physical features, or lack thereof, of any one book.
The total rating has been indicated with each book or ephemera in a paragraph placed immediately above the book price, the acronym "ASR" representing the phrase "Ancestry Solutions Rating". The highest possible rating for one book is 49.
