Please be aware that Boyd's Marriages are not complete on this CD-Rom. Only a specific pattern of surname selection was used for the abstracts from Boyd's index. However, there are close to 27,000 entries from Boyd's second and third series that appear in the East Kent Families Database. You should also be apprised of the fact, if you do not already know it, that the marriages included on Boyd's second series were actually an index that he made from the Archdeaconry of Canterbury marriage licenses. So, where a reference to a marriage of your ancestors is located within the Boyd's entries you can be reasonably assured that a full marriage license exists in respect of that particular entry. It is for this reason that entries from Boyd's Marriages has been abstracted and included in this database.

The table immediately following represents the beginning letters of surnames used for Boolean search-based abstracts included in the East Kent Families Database. For example, all surnames that begin with the letters "Bach" have been abstracted and included in this database.
