How to Change the Appearance of PAF Pages

You can change five areas of colour: Name Text, Name Background, Selected Name Text, Selected Name Background and Window Background, providing lots of opportunity for customizing the look of your PAF home pages.

Go to Tools > Preferences > General tab > bottom left-hand corner click on "Colors" and select the option that you want to change, first. For example, to change the colour of the main background on the Family and Pedigree pages, from drop-down list on the Color window select "Window Background", click on "Change Color" and click on any colour you fancy. You can also define a Custom Color by clicking on the "Define Custom Colors button at the bottom of the Color window. If you don't like the colour you have chosen you can change the colour back to the light grey, which is Red 234, Green 234, Blue 234. Repeat the process to change any of the other colours to your choice. Here is a screen shot of changing the window background and name box backgrounds to the often-chosen black background, with bright yellow name boxes and a light grey selected name background. Just note, that if you go darker for the window background you will lose the ability to see the comments above the boxes. Note that the edit screens remain in the light grey background.
