This was a limited edition print run to mark the dismantling, in May, 1975, of the Falkirk Town Council, which had been in existence since November, 1833. A copy of this book was presented only to each member and official of the Town Council to remind each of them of the long history of the town and also as a token of the thanks of the Council for their service. This is an excellent little book covering the founding of the Town during Roman times, through the battles fought at the Town up to the present. There are numerous illustrations and photographs of the townscape and landmarks as well as three fairly detailed maps laying out the battle plans for each of the Towns military confrontations.
Includes table of illustrations, index, sources and a roster of the Provosts of the Burgh from 1833 through May 1975
ASR rating 26.
